CAPTURING IN CHESS

Definition

Capturing in chess means taking your opponent’s piece by moving your piece onto its square.

Basic Rule of Capturing

A player can capture:

1.Only opponent’s pieces

2.Not their own pieces

After capturing:

The opponent’s piece is removed from the board

Your piece occupies that square
